What a gem! 4 floors of treasures to look through. Books are sorted by genre and in alphabetical order. Found some rare books here at really affordable prices.

This used to be one of my favorite places in the city but their prices have been spiralling out of control. I understand that they charge what they think is "market value" based on a tiny google search, but they don't seem to be cluing in on why people would commute to their brick & mortar store for pre-used books, when they are also available online. If they get their act together and start charging good prices again, then 5 stars. But until then I only use Marktplaats and Amazon.

This is THE stop for secondhand English language books in Amsterdam. Manages to find the perfect balance between stacks and stacks of books, but also maintaining a really great organisation so everything is easy to find. And if you can't find it yourself, the shop is staffed by the nicest people in the whole city!

I always try to make time to stop by 'The Book Exchange' when in Amsterdam. It is chock-full of second-hand (and some antiquarian) tomes across a range of most subject areas. If you love books and want to lose track of time then this bookshop is well worth a visit. It is a book browser's paradise!
