Mean Eyed Cat

Came to Austin for a bachelor party. Got in early and killed just enough time to walk in to this bar at open. This place was by far my favorite part of austin. Probably the main reason I would come back. The owner was very friendly and Mario the bartender was the man. Would come back just to hang with him Not to mention the actual bar is insanely cool visually and overall has everything you could look for in a fantastic day drinking dive. In my top 5 favorite bar rankings after our great experience. Couldn't tell you how the food was, didnt get that far, but both the beer and the AC were ice cold, so I couldn't ask for much more.

Drove by and saw the name and knew we had to stop in. Turned around and went in. This nostalgia surrounded by a bar. Amazing place. If you’re in Austin you have to come here!

Stumbled upon this place as we were just staying a 5 min walk away. Mix of bikers, hipsters and college bros. It was a good place for a drink and chill on the large patio. Order at the bar, no table service.

What a great time! Mario is probably one of the best bartenders we have met in our travels. He’s got that old school vibe with a fantastic personality.! The bar is exactly what you would expect. If I could give 10 stars I would.

My absolute number one favorite bar in Austin and probably all Texas! Great atmosphere and super nice and fun staff! Always a fantastic time when you come here. Walls are so interesting with old Johnny Cash posters and art, stickers and stuff to talk about. Great merch too, get a hat or shirt!
