KIEZ SAUNA - The sauna in Berlin-Friedrichshain

Been there and recommended this sauna to multiple friends. Price, cleanliness, distance and space is completely sufficient for every thing you would want from a sauna.

They are professional, friendly, helpful and all welcomed me with a big smile, they speak also perfect english and the massage was on point

Advantages + neighborhood sauna + feels like family owned + card payment + draft beer and other drinks + close to U bahn + Very very hot sauna rituals (some people left in the middle of ritual) + English speaking staff + Safe lockers + Nonslip floor + Sauna for 23 persons Disadvantages - higher prices - 4 hours per 22 eur (you cannot buy a 1 hour or 2 hours) - no swimming pool - relax room with transparent windows (everyone can see you)

I've been many times and even though I think the sauna itself is decent, there is one big issue for me. They have a no phone policy (of course everyone is naked), but they are absolutely not strict about this. I have seen many times people in the relaxing area with smartphones, like literally almost every time I went and I spoke on 3 different occasions with 3 different people who work there and asked to just put the "no phone" sign in all the areas so its more clear for everyone and the answer was always that it's not really important and that 90% of the time nothing bad happens.... But what about when bad things happen and creeps are there, how can you distinguish if there are not strict rules? I find it really annoying and takes away a safety feeling for me. Really bad attitude not taking these basic things seriously. There are literally documentaries from STR_F about porn sites publishing non consensual videos of women in saunas in Germany taken with smartphones, take better care of your people, even normal techno clubs in Berlin are more strict about this

Except the thermal water and the swimming pool, it has it all in miniature version. Even the essential oils ceremony. I've seen only one spot which could be cleaned better - behind the tap in the men toilet upstairs. Otherwise, it's perfectly made, for the environment and space available. Oh, yes, and you can pay cash! Great! If you bring someone here on a date, the sauna will not be the primary factor for a second one. ;)
