Saunabad Berlin Prenzlauer Berg

A true hidden gem in Prenzlauer Berg! Tucked away near the Wasserturm on Rykestraße, Saunabad Prenzlauer Berg is a tranquil escape right in the heart of the city. With excellent public transport connections, it’s easy to reach — but still feels like a secret spot known only to a few. The moment you step inside, the atmosphere transforms. The design cleverly blends natural, earthy elements with smart spatial planning. The relaxation areas are peaceful, thoughtfully laid out, and generously available throughout the space. The Aufguss ceremony every hour is a highlight — especially thanks to the wonderful woman leading it. She’s warm, energetic, and creates a fantastic vibe with her towel rituals! The on-site bar offers a great selection of fruit juices, and they also provide salt sticks on request, which is a nice touch. Don’t miss the sleep zone — I nearly drifted off completely! 🔕 One small note: During my visit, a few guests were quite loud, which disrupted the calm atmosphere. It would be great if staff gently reminded visitors to maintain quiet in shared areas. Overall, an incredibly relaxing experience. Highly recommended — but let’s keep it our little secret 😉 It’s not expensive guys!!

Not queer/gender inclusive: one of the owners addressed people during Aufguss only with ‚ladies and gentlemen‘. During check out I remarked that while I know it’s not easy to address inclusively, there are a lot of other genders outside this binary, upon which the owner said that there aren’t for him, only man and woman, and that „if they have to start with this, the addressing would be exaggerated and take 5 minutes every time“. Not sure on how those maths work or what’s wrong with a nice „Dear people“ but in any case: no intention of openness or inclusion nor reflection on the topic.

We had a lovely time here. The staff were so friendly and welcoming and explained everything to us patiently as we don’t speak German. The saunas are amazing, everybody was so respectful and we felt very comfortable the whole time. Thank you for a great experience!

Nice sauna with “Aufguss” hourly. Outdoor are to chill and hang out. No smoking allowed. Reasonably priced. Friendly attendant.

Really great Finnish sauna, Aufguss was great with three phases: camphor & orange, geranium, and European cedar, don’t leave during the Aufguss (cover your face if it’s too hot or move down), four stars because guard your towel, and the Finnish sauna gets pretty full - like over 20 people - but the lower temp one is good and has nice birdsong/meditation musik. A little on the more expensive side, no “schnell” sauna option available for less than two and a half hours.
