From the iconic Pride parade down Bay Street to the beachside revelry at Riverside Park, Jacksonville knows how to throw a party like no one's business! So, what makes Jacksonville Pride so special? For starters, it's all about community – and I'm not just talking about the rainbow flags waving high. No way! This celebration is a true reflection of the city's heart: inclusive, welcoming, and FUN-tastic! Let me take you on a little journey through my Pride experience. As I strolled along Bay Street, I was greeted by the infectious energy of the crowd. People of all ages, from tiny tots to seasoned partygoers, were dancing in the streets, singing along to their favorite tunes, and making unforgettable memories with friends and loved ones. The parade itself was a real showstopper! With floats featuring local organizations, businesses, and individuals, the route was lined with an array of colorful costumes, creative performances, and – of course – PLENTY of rainbow flags waving high. I mean, who doesn't love a good ol' fashioned Pride party?! After the parade, it was time to get this party started at Riverside Park! With live music pumping through the speakers, delicious food vendors serving up tasty treats, and an ice-cold beer (or two) in hand, we were ready to take on the night! As I mingled with fellow partygoers, I couldn't help but feel a sense of pride (pun intended!) knowing that this celebration was all about unity, acceptance, and self-expression. And let me tell you – Jacksonville's got it down pat! From the vibrant street art adorning the city's buildings to the rainbow-colored murals popping up around town, there's no denying the River City's commitment to LGBTQ+ culture and community.
