This iconic venue has been a staple of the Austin music scene for over 50 years! With its legendary live performances and eclectic mix of genres, you'll find something that gets your toes tapping. I mean, where else can you see both up-and-coming indie acts and established rock stars sharing the stage? It's a true community hub, and I'm so grateful to have it as part of our city's fabric! Another must-visit spot is the Ritz Theater. This historic venue has been fully restored to its former glory, offering an intimate setting for both live music performances and film screenings. Trust me when I say that the energy in this room is ELECTRIC! From indie films to documentaries, and from rock concerts to cabaret shows – you'll find something to suit your fancy. Now, let's talk about our fabulous LGBTQ+ community! Austin's got a thriving scene that's full of pride (pun intended). The city hosts an annual Pride celebration that draws in thousands of attendees from all over the country. And let me tell you, it's a PARTY like no other! With live music, delicious eats, and a sea of colorful costumes – you'll feel like you're in the middle of a rainbow explosion! Of course, no discussion about Austin's entertainment scene would be complete without mentioning our beloved comedy clubs. The Velveeta Room and Cap City Comedy Club are two of my personal faves (I mean, have you seen their lineups?!). With comedians from all over the country and even the world – you'll find that our city's got a unique blend of humor and heart. Last but certainly not least, let's give some love to our amazing film festivals! The Austin Film Festival is one of the biggest and best in the country, featuring both indie films and Hollywood blockbusters.
