But what really makes Denver special is its commitment to inclusivity and acceptance. As an ally-friendly city, we've got plenty of resources and support systems in place for our queer youth, seniors, and everyone in between. Organizations like The Center on Colfax, the LGBTQ+ Community Center, and the Colorado AIDS Project are just a few examples of the amazing work being done to make our community stronger, healthier, and more united than ever. As someone who's called Denver home for many years, I've had the privilege of witnessing firsthand how this city has evolved into an LGBTQ+-friendly haven. Take, for instance, the newly opened Queer Barrio, a fabulous Latinx-owned queer space that's become an instant favorite among locals. Or, check out Denver's very own LGBTQ+ bookstore, The Bookies, which has been a staple of our community since 1994.
