The 'Burgh may not be the biggest city, but it's got heart – and an LGBTQ+ scene that's anything but small! For me, Pittsburgh's community is all about that warm, fuzzy feeling you get when you're surrounded by people who accept and celebrate you for who you are. It's a place where diversity is celebrated, and inclusivity is the name of the game. And let me tell you, it's infectious! As soon as I step foot in this city, I feel like I'm part of something special. Take the Pittsburgh Pride parade, for instance. One place that embodies this spirit is the Kelly Strayhorn Theater, a staple of Pittsburgh's arts scene that's been hosting innovative productions for over 50 years. With a focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion, KST has become a haven for creatives from all backgrounds – including our own LGBTQ+ community. I've had the pleasure of attending some incredible shows there, from jazz concerts to dance performances, and I always leave feeling inspired and energized. But what really gets me excited is seeing new faces and fresh voices join the mix. Pittsburgh's got a thriving arts scene that's always pushing boundaries and challenging norms – and as an LGBTQ+ community, we're at the forefront of that movement.
