On any given night, you can find me (and many of my queer friends) sipping craft beers at Cigar City Brewing's taproom or busting a move on the dance floor at The Orpheum. And if you're looking for a taste of that old-school Tampa vibe, head to Houndstooth Saloon – a dive bar with a heart of gold and a playlist that'll keep you dancing 'til the sun goes down! Of course, no trip to Ybor would be complete without a visit to 12th Street, affectionately known as "La Segunda." This iconic strip is home to some of Tampa's most beloved eateries, including La Segunda Central Bakery – where you can score a mean Cuban sandwich and a slice (or three) of their famous arroz con leche. And don't even get me started on the street performers! You might catch a drag queen strutting her stuff or a musician belting out a tune that'll make your heart sing. But Ybor isn't the only game in town, folks! The SoHo neighborhood (South Howard Avenue) is another hotspot for LGBTQ+ fun. You might find me sipping champagne cocktails at The Honey Pot or enjoying a plate of mouth-watering brunch at The Hangar Pub & Beer Garden. And if you're in the mood for something a little more... adventurous, head to Ciro's Speakeasy – Tampa's oldest bar, where the drinks are strong and the vibes are always lively! And then there's the people – oh, the people! Tampa is home to an incredible array of queer folks from all walks of life.
