Leonardo Eden Hotel Amsterdam City Center

This lovely old hotels assets are it's great location and friendly helpful staff. BUT, the superior rooms are faaaaarrr from superior! Even after complaining and getting a slightly better room it was still small, with poor decor, uncomfortable bed, no fridge, coffee machine on the blink etc. We paid just over £619 for three nights, really not worth it. Ahh if only the rooms lived up to the photos! Owners of the Eden, drop the Superior title and the price, or update the rooms. Yes it's in a city close to everything by still over priced. I do not recommend.

We stayed at this hotel few weeks ago, and really enjoyed! The hotel is in a great location, but what really stood out to us was the breakfast service. Even when the restaurant was very busy, everything ran smoothly thanks to the amazing team. A special thank you to Martijn, who did a fantastic job managing the hot food station. The croissants, bacon, and sausages were always fresh and delicious. Marina was equally impressive, constantly making sure the buffet was clean, organized, and fully stocked, all with great attention to detail. They make a great team and clearly care about creating a positive experience for guests. People like Martijn and Marina are what make guests feel truly welcome. Thank you for your hard work, and keep up the excellent job! Grazie mille a tutti 🎀

We stayed here last June and it was a pleasant stay. The staff were on hand to help us with anything we needed and it was a very stylish and big hotel. The room we had was okay. Very small and very dark even with the blinds open. It wasn’t the cleanest of hotels. We found hairs in the bathroom and the floor wasn’t that clean. That being said the location of this hotel is fab,right in the centre with lots of shops places to eat and drink near by. All in all an okay stay. We would stay there again.

We had the great pleasure of staying at the Eden Hotel prior to embarking on our Scandinavian cruise, and the experience exceeded our expectations. The location is truly fantastic and perfectly situated for exploring the city while offering beautiful views of the river. What truly sets this hotel apart is its exceptional staff and their genuine commitment to customer service. We would especially like to recognize Youssef at the front desk, who consistently went above and beyond to ensure our stay was seamless and enjoyable. Aressa was an absolute pleasure to interact with, and Dominique, the front desk manager, demonstrated outstanding professionalism and care. Together, they made our stay feel both personal and memorable. Our room was charming, comfortable, and offered a wonderful view of the river, adding to the overall experience.

Location is the only real justification for this hotel. The staff were friendly and the breakfast was genuinely good, but the room itself was very poor for the price. The floor had soft spots, giving the room an unintended “old boat” quality. The carpet by the window stayed wet the entire time, likely from a leak around the casement. The mattresses were badly sunken from overuse. They were old enough to demand retirement benefits. The paint was scuffed, and the pillows were so thick they forced my head and neck into an awkward angle. The pillows were not pillows so much as cervical alignment weapons. The view was not Amsterdam charm so much as an HVAC ductwork exhibit in a small enclosed shaft surrounded by other walls. Privacy required keeping the curtains closed, unless I wanted to establish a visual relationship with strangers several meters away. And the elevator seemed to have a will of its own — which was to teach the art of patience. It operated on a schedule known only to itself, apparently as part of a hotel-wide mindfulness program and fitness initiative to encourage guests to take the stairs, since that was often quicker. The staff and breakfast deserve credit, but the room condition does not. They are charging for location, not quality. Now that I understand Amsterdam’s layout better, I would rather stay slightly farther out and walk an extra 15 minutes than pay this much again for a tired room with damp carpet and a view of ductwork.
