A truly authentic Dutch restaurant and one of the highlights of our trip to Amsterdam! After spending the day exploring the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, we arrived here around 4:30 PM and were lucky to get a table without waiting. Shortly afterward, a line started forming outside, so arriving a bit earlier is definitely a good idea. The beer was excellent, and both the ham dish and the traditional Dutch mashed potatoes with sausage (stamppot) were absolutely delicious. The food was hearty, flavorful, and gave us a wonderful taste of local Dutch cuisine. Friendly service and a great atmosphere as well. Highly recommended!

Amazing Dutch cuisine and dishes! Every single dish was perfection and was so filling. The atmosphere is very relaxing, cozy and authentic. Very friendly service! 10/10 experience and would highly, highly recommend when in Amsterdam!

Highly recommended. The food is incredibly tasty, authentic, and has that comforting homemade quality that is becoming harder and harder to find. To me, this is much more enjoyable than a fancy Michelin-starred restaurant where the presentation is stunning but the food itself is often less memorable. The place is small, simple, and old-school, with no trendy design or luxury atmosphere. What matters here is the food. If you want to experience real Dutch cuisine rather than a tourist-oriented concept, this is definitely worth a visit.

We didn’t have high expectations going in since it’s in a very touristy area, but it turned out to be one of the best Dutch meals we had on our trip. The food was really authentic and everything tasted great. Portions were huge for the price, service was very good, and the Dutch beers were also really nice. Definitely worth a visit.

Great place to try traditional Dutch food. We got lucky and were seated immediately without a reservation, but it seemed like booking ahead or waiting is usually necessary. I tried the traditional 3-course menu for €26.5, the soup and main course were both really good, while the dessert (vlaflip) was a bit underwhelming. They also have a nice selection of tasty beers. We sat outside, which made for a quiet and relaxed atmosphere where it was easy to talk, though the inside seemed much louder and busier.
