W Amsterdam

The hotel is split in two, on both sides of the road. The part where we stayed is quite unusual with split levels—it's a bit disorienting but fun. The rooms are modern, but honestly, I’m not a big fan. The toilet looks like an isolation cell painted orange. The sink is right in the middle of the room. The hotel staff is great, but on the other hand, while the view from the bar on the 6th floor is very cool, the service is slow. Several spirits were out of stock, and the terrace closes at 10:00 PM (seriously?). The location is perfect.

Stayed here three times now and this will be my last. Breakfast is a mess and average, rooms are too small and dark, truly no regard for ambassador loyalty, cleaners are always very loud and shouting in the hallways and staff is 50/50. Sometimes friendly, sometimes very disengaged and not interested (especially at Mr Porter and Duchess). Had a member of staff enter my room at 8am and rather than leave when he saw me asleep, he just stood there for a few mins until I shouted he had to leave. Unheard of. No apology, no explanation. He wasnt a cleaner based on the suit he was wearing. Had a very small room without any proper windows (for a 6 day stay) and when I asked for a room change they said it wasnt possible. Not until I wouldnt accept it and spoke with the manager they changed me but by then my mood and welcome were already ruined. Rooms and hotel smell like sewage constantly and on the side of the Duchess the rooms smell like oil/fried food. Very unpleasant. Price is just not worth it at EUR 600 per night. There are truly better and more welcoming hotels for less.

Had an incredible experience with W Amsterdam! Staff at the reception were extremely friendly, explained everything perfectly, Vasilios offered us a beverage on our arrival, our room was ready by the time we arrived (14:15). The room was so nice and the bed was comfortable. We had a great night sleep! Absolutely loved and enjoyed the Spa. Left the Spa feeling completely relaxed. Would 100% come again! Thanks to the amazing staff ❤️

Good location and good staff. Especially team at the restaurant is a very good one. However , the design of hotel is a total disappointment. No proper reception space if you need to wait , other than one sofa like budget hotels which try to get most from each square meter. Overall design may probably be called modernist , however it is like an industrial factory with no warm aesthetics. Even lifts are like lifts for loads in factories. Although material used is good , room internal design can only be a internal designer self satisfaction , not something properly functional . Putting sink in the open space format and no dedicated space other than closed toilet and opaque walled bathroom are not right choices for functional usage. Washing your hands at night means you will wake up your partner. Guests should not suffer to satisfy a designer’s desire. At least I will not fund these if I am not comfortable anymore. Therefore , good location and staff at W/Marriot level , however it does not give right value from comfort pow for the prices charged. Need also be careful for taxi scam out of the main gate. (Meanwhile they should award Rex at restaurant for his really kind interest for guests )

We came for wellness , and got massage for 45 minutes instead of 60 minutes (15 minutes they spend for selling extras and explaining what is massage about;)) and massage therapy was far away than any normal massage. Be careful to lose your money for lowest level massage therapy ever you could get. Not impressed by Hotel management not taking professional massage therapists for such a high level hotel. Price is 2,5x more than outside but quality is lowest level!
