A Cappella Books

Wonderful little bookstore near Inman Park and Little Five Points in Atlanta. Perfect location for the treasure trove of books of every kind. Even a rare book section where I picked up a couple of gems. They also host writers for book signings, which is what brought me there. It's a must visit if you're in the area.

A Capella is my favorite book store in Atlanta. Let me tell you why. First off, I am a serious reader. I know some people read one book a year, or one book a month. I read at least a book a week. I used to spend $100/month on books. My girlfriend made me get a library card to improve my personal finances. And although it helped some, I am often disappointed by the selection at the library and its apps, so I still shop at bookstores. I purge my books every few months because they cannot fit in my house, and I have to decide which few to keep. After some years of this, you become more like a collector or librarian. And the books that survive the purges begin to feel like art objects. Like Grandma's amateur painting of the old family farmhouse -- perched in the shelf, packed with meaning and memories. Slowly turning the home into the museum of one's life. Choosing what to read is no longer a matter of best seller's lists, or Time's 100 Top Books. Books should have provenance and layers of significance to their owner. Or at least, that is necessary to survive a purge. A Capella is perfect for this type of reader. Someone addicted to reading like others are addicted to wine or whiskey. Enter A Capella books and you will see nyrb classics in the front display, where a lesser bookstore might post NY Times-bestselling ephemera. Look to the left, and find many local authors and books that touch local issues are in the store -- especially from less famous authors who might not even be carried in other book stores. Don't be surprised if you open a new handback and find it is a signed first edition! Besides new books, they have a well curated collection of used books, which echo the same triumphant chords in souls hopelessly addicted to reading. Overall, I walk into this bookstore and feel an exponentially higher probability that I will find something I keep on my bookshelf for many years. As long as the book is less than $50, I am happy to buy it, if it is signed and meaningful to me. I tell my girlfriend having the library card means I can buy fewer books, but spend more per book when I do buy. She shakes her head and sighs. ... What can you do? Thank you, A Capella Books.

A Cappella books is a lovely and quaint bookstore in Atlanta. The bookstore hosts many author events. The bookstore has a wide variety of new, used, signed, and collectible editions for perusal. I picked up this gem at the front of the store. Be sure to stop by and patronize the store to find some amazing gems.

Upon entering, you'll encounter a section dedicated to bestsellers and books exclusively signed by authors for this bookstore. What truly left a lasting impression was the collection of books by local Atlanta authors, fostering a sense of support for local writers. As you venture further inside, the atmosphere undergoes a transformation. In this inner space, you'll discover used books, limited editions, and even signed copies, including works by Somerset Maugham and Toni Morrison.

Great new and used bookstore. There is street parking but no lot. You walk into the new bookstore section and then take a left turn to the used section. Included in the used book section are rare collector books priced at reusable prices. The used books have a price penciled on the first page. It felt good to hold a book and page through it, especially a book with lots of pictures.
