First Light Book Shop

Atmosphere is similar to Books Are Magic (NYC) if you're familiar with that store. Feels like an extension of UT and usually packed with grad students inside and outside. Great if you like that, annoying if you want to get away from constant school-based interactions. It can be really hard to find a place to sit during the school year. Called the store twice to ask about membership details and never got my question answered.

A really cute cozy and amazing book store with lots of books and an adorable cafe. I loved this book store for its uniqueness. How it had plenty of seating outside to just hang out and read and enjoy a cup of coffee. They have a lot of book selections and we found plenty of books that we got. Their kids section is extremely adorable too. Their gift items and other stationery is also very unique and fun. I really enjoyed this book store and will definitely be back again.

A truly dreamy place for a book and coffee lover. I bought a handful of books and got the cardamom rose date coffee with almond milk (hot). I wish that I could linger there more, but I had to make the drive back to DFW. Great outdoor and indoor seating. Friendly staff and just a wonderful, cozy, and whimsical vibe. You need to check this place out!

Super neat little bookstore, with a coffee shop inside and a cozy courtyard outside. This definitely feels like a place to hang out for a few hours and catch up with friends. The staff here are really nice people and seem to really enjoy their jobs. The book selection here is a little smaller since they are a smaller bookstore, however they do have a lot of currently popular titles. There's even a cute card section where you can tell they've all be given a special touch. Lots of good reads and fun, little knickknack things.

This is our favorite coffee place around the Hyde Park area. The book store looks very popular too although I personally don't spend any time in there. The people working here are fantastic and very friendly and the place is kept very clean. We always sit outside, either in the front or along the side, and have a great time here. Our dog loves it too. Note, when asking for a vanilla latte you need to mention "hot" if that's the way you want it because the default appears to be "cold".
