Hotel Van Zandt

We stayed at Hotel van Zandt last night as we were going to a wedding on Rainey Street. The hotel is in a perfect location! We were close enough to walk to the wedding, to eat lunch in the Rainey Street District and to walk around Town Lake! The front desk service, the valets and the wait staff at the pool were all amazing! Top notch service during our entire stay!

I chose to stay at the Van Zandt because I had some critical business meetings and wanted to be able to leverage the beautiful lobby and cafe. I have the Chase Sapphire Reserve card and this is "the Edit" property. This means I get a $250 credit on my next statement and a whole host of additional benefits and amenities, as you can see from the letter. This included a $100 credit on dining, mini bar, etc. The benefit is fantastic if you are a couple because you got $30 per person per day. That's $60 for breakfast. When I arrived the kind gentleman at reception welcomed me with two drink vouchers I could use for drip coffee or an old-fashioned or margarita at the bar, plus the letter. He carefully and thoughtfully went through everything. I was able to get a room upgrade to a studio suite. I had dinner the first night at Geraldine's. I will do a second review on the restaurant but I can say it was absolutely fantastic. The food was excellent and the service was impeccable. I can imagine it gets pretty loud on weekends because they also have live music but for a quiet Sunday it was really great. All in all I had a really excellent and restful time. Staff was fantastic and I would highly recommend going to the Van Zandt for business or pleasure. Of note they are no longer a Kimpton or IHG hotel so be aware of that before booking

My husband and I celebrated our 28th anniversary at HVZ. Everyone from the valet/door guys on through the front desk staff were incredibly kind and informative. We both love music so having a record player with great album choices to play in our room was a huge plus! The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. We had a great view of Ladybird Lake. The soaking tub is must of you can swing the king suite. It did not disappoint. We also received a card and bottle of champagne that was unexpected and perfect. Thanks to the staff for helping make our anniversary weekend extra special.

Loved the masculine atmosphere. Well maintained property. Enjoyed the unlimited free Saratoga water that you receive from reception as well as the complimentary Margaritas at check in. Also received a $30 credit to use for the lovely cafe they have in the lobby or at their restaurant. Pool area was closed during our stay and there is no hot tub. Did not love that we couldn’t self-park and valet parking is about $70/night. Street parking is very limited, so valet may be your only option.

If you’re looking for the ultimate Austin stay, the Van Zandt hits all the right notes! Here is the breakdown of our experience: The Room: We stayed in a Junior Suite and it was absolutely massive. Between the two queen beds and a dedicated sitting area, we had room to breathe. The real showstopper? The bathroom. That soaking tub is a dream. The Perks: Check-in was a breeze, and the staff were genuinely welcoming. Also, never underestimate the power of a complimentary welcome drink—it’s the perfect way to kick things off. The Scene: The pool and outdoor bar are top-tier. Great energy, great drinks, and great views. The Catch: For a property this stunning, the gym felt a little "standard." We were also asked to leave the public pool for a private party. And when the hotel texted us asking how our stay was going, we responded with a question, but they didn't answer.
