Axel Hotel Berlin

Air conditioning did not work during my one week stay although a fan was provided to circulate the air it did very little too cool down the room. The sauna was closed due to maintenance issues. Staff was friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, polite, prompt and attentive. The location was wonderful.

After staying at Axel TWO in Barcelona on our honeymoon last year - we were really looking forward to our stay at Axel Berlin. We really liked the hotel - and had a great stay. Positives: great location which is close to a lot of LGBT Berlin nightlife and the metro, super friendly and hospitable staff and easy check in procedures on arrival. We were upgraded to a Junior Suite which we really appreciated. The room was spacious and generally clean. Bed was comfortable and we liked the free amenities that were offered in the room including lots of toiletries and bathrobes. It was also nice to have a full bath and separate shower in the room. Negatives: While the room was generally clean, the bath jets had clearly not been cleaned as floating bits were in the water when the jets were switched on. There was traffic and outside noise from the room - one to maybe think about if you’re a light sleeper. TV didn’t work properly so weren’t able to watch it and the WiFi didn’t work either. On check out day, we had an abrupt knock on the door to be told check out was 11. It would’ve been better if we were told during check in of the times as it’s unusual for a hotel to have such an early check out. The spa and bar weren’t open as they were closed for renovation. (the hotel did tell us this before arrival - but not on booking) Overall a great stay - we look forward to returning when all of the hotel amenities are open.

My stay at Axel Hotel Berlin was extremely disappointing from beginning to end. I booked through TUI and was completely misinformed about what to expect. The hotel is very sleazy and outdated, nothing like the impression given when booking. The rooms look tired, worn, and in serious need of refurbishment. In my original room, the shower bath leaked all over the floor, making it unsafe and unusable, and the bathroom light was broken, flashing like a rave in the toilet. I had no choice but to ask for another room, which should never be necessary at this price point. To make matters worse, a €150 deposit was taken on arrival, which was never advertised or mentioned by either TUI or the hotel beforehand. This felt misleading and unacceptable. The door signs were also distasteful and added to the overall uncomfortable and tacky atmosphere. Overall, the hotel failed on comfort, maintenance, and transparency. I would not return and would strongly advise others to think carefully before booking, especially through TUI.

Great stay at Hotel Axel Berlin! The staff were friendly, and my room was spotless, super comfortable and well-equipped. The hotel’s location is perfect, close to attractions and nightlife. Breakfast was excellent, with plenty of fresh options. I loved the welcoming atmosphere! Highly recommended for anyone visiting Berlin.

I had an amazing stay at Axel Hotel Berlin. From the moment I arrived, the staff were friendly, professional, and made me feel welcome. The hotel has a modern design and a relaxed atmosphere that made my stay very comfortable. My room was clean, cozy, and well-equipped with everything I needed. The location is perfect close to shops, restaurants, and the best spots in Berlin. I really enjoyed my time here and would happily stay again. Highly recommended!
