We had a wonderful evening at the Secret Garden—serving shared and interesting fusion plates. It is a trendy, fun and hip place to visit. We loved listening to the live music performed by singer Luz and her wonderful guitarist/co-singer. We highly recommend Secret Garden for a special evening with friends and family….or for a date. Enjoy!
Lovely dinner for two.
Started with Tuna Tartare and Beef Tataki. Very flavorfull, tataki was incredibly tender! Tuna flavours absolutely on point. Wagyu Carpaccio, chicken skewers, beetroot, sweet potato and Sirloin to finish. Fantastic flavours. Carpaccio incredibly tender with truffel / wasabi mixed in. Couldnt fault any of it.
Very good service from Lola who made sure all our needs were met and regularly topping our wine. Best dinner of 2026 so far!
Secret Garden, once again you made me feel truly special on my birthday. Just like last year, my friends and I visited one of my favourite restaurants in Amsterdam to begin my birthday celebrations. Even though my own holiday season hasn’t started yet, this place instantly gives you the feeling of being abroad, dining somewhere exotic and unforgettable.
The food was once again exquisite, and the service absolutely top-notch. This is now the second year in a row that I’ve started my birthday week at this beautiful restaurant, and it has become a tradition I genuinely look forward to.
I will most likely be back again next year celebrating life while enjoying the chef’s unique and exceptional creations.
The atmosphere is was romantic and on spot. I enjoyed the live music and decor. Their is a coat check and a curtain at the entrance people coming in and out are not noticeable. The food was good but not absolutely amazing. We had the beet salad with wasabi yogurt, the beef appetizer, hamachi open face hand roll and the grilled octopus. Everything was good as i exect it would be but didn't stand out in particular.
LWe were visiting Amsterdam and, after some research, booked Secret Garden in advance for our Christmas Eve dinner — and it absolutely did not disappoint.
From the moment we stepped inside, we were genuinely wowed. The decor and ambience are simply magical — cozy yet elegant, with a beautiful blend of natural elements and contemporary design. The space feels intimate and warm, almost like stepping into a hidden sanctuary in the city. The lighting is especially well done, soft and flattering, creating a relaxed, romantic atmosphere that makes you want to slow down and truly enjoy the evening.
The staff were outstanding — warm, friendly, and genuinely attentive throughout the night. Service felt polished yet personal, never rushed and never intrusive.
For Christmas Eve, the restaurant offered a set menu, and every single dish was a pleasant surprise. Each course wow-ed our palate — beautifully presented, full of flavour, and perfectly balanced. You can really tell that a lot of thought went into the seasoning and composition of each dish. It was honestly one of the best meals we’ve ever had, and this is one of those experiences where words don’t fully do it justice — you really have to experience it yourself.
The waiter took the time to explain every dish, which added so much to the overall dining experience. It felt immersive and thoughtful, rather than just a meal. The drink menu is equally impressive, with a great selection of wines, cocktails, spirits, and even 0% alcohol options for non-drinkers — a very sweet and inclusive touch that we truly appreciated.
Overall:
Secret Garden delivers on every level — ambience, service, food, and experience. A perfect choice for a special occasion, especially festive dinners. Strongly recommended, and definitely a restaurant we would return to without hesitation.
