Renaissance Atlanta Midtown Hotel

Friendly staff, and the hotel is in a nice environment for walking. Rooms should be better inspected before guests check in. Downsides- a broken shower knob (still functional but had to be reattached each time to adjust temperature), a missing piece on the bathroom faucet that caused water to spray messily. The sink counter sticks out far, making it difficult to comfortably get close to the mirror. There was noticeable water/vent noise at night that became loud and constant, and in the morning the shower water toggled between cold and warm. There were also visible stains on the room floor. Bedding was minimal (just a sheet and one light layer), and the mattress was not comfortable. There was no menu to order room service, and the room phone had no dial tone so I was unable to call the front desk and had to use my cell. A printed sheet with nearby shops and attractions at the check-in desk was cut off and not printed properly. TV channel options were very limited. The gym is very small but open 24/7. I also traveled with someone who had to change rooms because the door to their first room wouldn’t close.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay this weekend! I would highly recommend the location. Everyone was professional and personable. The rooms were very clean. Sheets and bed were comfortable, and the shower was my personal favorite. I was also able to take advantage of the gym. It was a wonderful business trip!!

This hotel is well located and well appointed with great service. The prices reflect that. However, it is important that guests be aware that they are in a major urban area. That means that you need to be street smart. As you drive away from the hotel, realize that cars can come fast, so look over your shoulder. Do not leave any valuables in your car (including phones and chargers) or leave it unlocked at any time, as vehicular theft is a common problem in Midtown. All street parking is metered and inspected and payable every day of the week except Sundays. There is no street parking east of Peachtree St NE unless you see a meter somewhere, which you need to pay and not let lapse. All residential street parking in Midtown proper is for residents only and requires a tag from the city. If you see someone who is suspect or acting strange, cross the street to avoid them. There are some untreated schizophrenics in Midtown, and some have harassed or attacked passersby. Also, always double lock your hotel room door. Midtown is a great neighborhood, but it is not like being in the burbs, so enjoy your stay but be aware.

The hotel staff were friendly and polite. However, my king bed was not ready for check in until 5pm due to laundry service company issue and linen not be delivered on time.

Great stay and caring staff. There was a power outage that occurred on our last night. My partner and I met Stephen and Blue in the lobby at 6 something in the morning- impressed that two managers were here that early. Sandy and Paul at the desk was great and offered us muffins and coffee while we waited for the power and water to return. These things happen but having a caring staff like this is hard to find these days.
