Descanso Resort - A Gay Men's Resort

I just returned from a 10 night stay at Descanso.  It was my first time in Palm Springs as well as my first visit at this A+++ resort.  Firstly, the website in no way does this serene place of relaxation justice.  The staff led by Charles keep everything running smoothly with the utmost priority being customer satisfaction. The rooms are impeccable.  The grounds are always spotless and the tropical foliage so inviting and welcoming.  They have a huge pool open 24/7.  Bottom  line, they provide everything you need for a luxurious vacation.  The included breakfast and lunch are the icing on the cake. Descanso manages to be classy providing the best pampering service and luxury possible.  And all the other guests add into this splendid environment. I in no way planned on  getting sick while away but I  got heat stroke and they kindly kept checking up on me.  Also, I went solo.  I really treasure my solo vacations and here was a perfect place to mingle with others or spend some quality solitude time.  I got that wonderful feeling half way through the trip when I turned my light out to go to sleep that I could let out a deep sigh and fully relax.  How much better than that can a vacation be.  Already set up for a 10 night trip next year. Descanso was a gem in all ways. Spacious well-appointed, comfortable, and stylishly decorated rooms. Elevated continental breakfast with out of the oven baked goods, fresh fruits and grains and juices, and warm meats and eggs. Ordered 'gourmet' salads and sandwiches for lunch. Beverages and snacks at all times. Staff uniformly available, able, and affable. Descanso was spotlessly clean. Gardens were lush combination of a variety of palms, tall full trees, flowering bushes, and vines which surround the pool, spa, and eating areas. This is a gay men's resort which happens to be clothing or nudity optional depending on perspective. Without quizzing the other guests, I would guess all the guests were some sort of professional or retired thereof making for somewhat elevated conversations. Great for adult gay male couples and singles. Highly recommend to adult gay men.

This is my third visit in three years for business conventions, and every time the experience is exceptional. The level of service, care, and attention truly rivals the St. Regis in NYC. From the moment the gentlemen greet you at the front door, the personalized service is outstanding. The daily lunch selections are excellent that they provide and the attention to the quality of breakfast is impressive. They offer snacks throughout the day, afternoon popsicles, and soft drinks and fresh fruit available 24/7 — making the value nearly impossible to beat. The rooms are spacious, spotless, and tastefully designed. The pool and pool lounge area are incredible, creating the perfect place to relax after a long day. The guests are friendly, and the staff is absolutely amazing. For us, there’s simply no other choice when visiting Palm Springs than Descanso. For the past 30 years, I have steered clear of gay resorts because of a bad experience in my early 20s. Staying at Descanso was a risk for me - a risk that ended up helping this omnivert relax, let down his guard, and enjoy meeting strangers-now-friends in a safe environment. The place is a gem; it's beautifully appointed and the amenities top-notch. The staff is "chef's kiss", specifically Dustin and Gennaro, with whom we had the most interactions. So friendly and dedicated to our good time. The pool was clean and kept at 90 degrees all day/night. We aren't the type of travelers who go back to places we've already been, but we will be returning to Palm Springs and Descanso! And we can't wait!

I had a wonderful time staying solo at Descanso. Dustin and the entire team were incredible, friendly and helpful. The provided breakfasts and lunches were delicious and the property is wonderfully equipped and maintained. I spent the majority of my time at the pool and hot tub. The room was very comfortable. I can't wait to stay again.
