Motel One Barcelona: Ciutadella

Stayed here for 3 nights! Our first time in Barcelona. I am truly shocked this is only considered a 3 start hotel, I would absolutely rate it at minimum 4 stars if not 5! Excellent location, a 15-20 minute walk to basically everything! A 5-7 minute walk to the Arc De Triumf transit station. Rooms were very nice, modern and clean. Hotel staff was extremely friendly. We had an unexpected rainfall one of the days, and the hotel provided umbrellas to borrow for the day free of charge! The bar is open 24/7 and the rooftop patio is open until 9pm. The only downfall (and this is a personal preference) is that I did not think the 15.50€ breakfast was worth it. There are plenty of spots very close to the hotel which you can get a much better selection. We would absolutely stay here again and recommend it to friends and family.

If you decide to stay in this hotel, you should know that you are gonna pay good amount of money per night only for the location and hygiene. - The queen size bed and pillows are comfortable for me. - The rooms are very small that have not enough storage space for 2 people and movement at the same time may give suffering. - The TV is useless unless you are a fan of CNN and watching the aquarium video while its idle. Not a serious issue for me, but also you can neither connect to Youtube nor mobile phone. (If you are lucky, they can provide an HDMI cable for your laptop) - The washroom is luxury, apart from being very small again. - The room I stayed had a very good view just because looking towards Citudella Park also the seaview at farthest point. - Despite the hotel have a bar-restaurant, there are a cafe and an Italian restaurant exist closely to hotel’s location that made my days during my stay in Barcelona great by filling my stomach deliciously. Generally, we didn’t have any complain here at all. Only the price per night is quite expensive compared to room sizes and the comfort we had that can be questioned.

A truly wonderful hotel. The modern interior design and furnishings are what you'd expect from a motel one. The location is fantastic. Bus stops and the metro are within easy reach, and you can also get around a lot on foot. We booked a room with a balcony and were given a lovely room with a own rooftop terrace on the seventh floor. Thank you so much for that and for the friendly, helpful, and excellent service! You made our stay a wonderful experience.

Everything was perfect from start to finish. The rooms are on the smaller side, but they’re ideal for a short city break and very well designed. We were lucky enough to have a lovely street view, which we really enjoyed. Close to public transportation and a great base for all attractions. Everything was spotless throughout our stay, and the cleaning standards were excellent. A big plus for us was the luggage service; they kindly stored our bags both when we arrived and on the day we left, for as long as we needed. This was such a helpful and much-appreciated perk when exploring the city. Overall, a great experience and we would definitely stay again.

Great value hotel in a brilliant location, giving it's proximity to the brilliant public transport system of Barcelona. The room was basic, more than suitable for a city break and most importantly it was impeccably clean. The bed was very comfy and we slept well every night we were there. Breakfast is continental and there was a very good selection on offer. All the staff were brilliant from reception, house keeping and dining and we're an absolute credit to the hotel. Would have no hesitation in recommending.
