We had a terrific 5-night stay at the Renaissance Barcelona; very comfortable rooms - we were fortunate enough to have a small terrace. Breakfast selections were terrific - a broad array, healthy choices, and a bit of variety every day. Rooftop bar at night was lovely. The location was perfect for us in terms of walking to key sites - Barcelona is a big city but we felt close to everything. A particular thanks to Salvador and Johanna at the front desk for helping with the room selection. Would definitely stay here again.

★★★★★We would like to share our excellent experience at this hotel on a week's vacation to Barcelona, also visiting Montserrat and the Cordorniu vineyard. If it was possible to give more than five stars, we would.
We stayed at the hotel for a week, starting 4/17. It is centrally located, near the Gaudi architectural masterpieces of Casa Batllo and Casa Mila and within walking distance of most restaurants, all types of shopping if you want it, on the Passeig de Gracia (or just people watching), the Mercat de la Boqueria, the Rambla de Catalunya, Palau de la Musica, Roman ruins, downtown, the Barri Gotic district, the waterfront, museums, the Arc de Triomf and the 1888 exposition area, with accessible transit, if needed, to all. We walked to all of the above, on different days.
All the staff, from the those greeting us in the lobby, to the check-in staff, to the concierge, to the bartender, to the housekeeping staff, and especially the restaurant staff in the early mornings for breakfast, were genuinely friendly, welcoming and sincere in all our interactions with them. Names that I can remember were Marc, Mae Lin, Faisal, Muhammad. The waitress from Greece at the rooftop restaurant took the time to chat with us about family and life outside of the hotel as well.
The hotel and rooms were especially clean and well cared for, and looked like they had recently had an upgrade, especially the electronic connections in the hotel rooms. We were lucky to have had great weather the entire week, and even to have spotted Pedro Almodovar doing a book signing at a bookshop not even a block from our hotel on El Dia de Sant Jordi, April 23.
One more thing that cemented our attachment to this hotel: we inadvertently left a number of stamped postcards in our hotel room that we took time to write to friends and family out of the country. When we called to see if the housekeeping staff had found them, they were at the front desk, and the staff gladly said they would post them for us.
Don't miss this hotel!!

★★★★★The location and service at this hotel was flawless. Our reservation included breakfast every day and our server Atta was like family. He brought us Americans hot coffee every time he made a fresh pot. I also got great service from Mouhammed who was a doorman of exceptional skill and generosity. Our room had a great view, and was a tad musty. Probably because the water pressure in the shower was so good you could easily have water flow onto the floor from the shower. Really no trouble. We also liked sitting on the rooftop deck overlooking Sagrada Família. Beautiful view and delicious food. Will be back for sure.
